A Personal Emergency Response System
(PERS) is a necklace
necklace or wristband that allows you to
call for assistance in
an emergency by the push of a
button. It is an excellent way
to ensure that
someone living alone can receive the
emergency
assistance they need should they have a fall or
other emergency.
Generally, a box with a speaker is
installed in the home and when the
button is pushed
a representative will call to make sure everything
is ok.
They will notify the appropriate authorities
if something is wrong.
Unfortunately, I have heard
many stories of people who have fallen in their
homes and have no way of calling for help. I highly
recommend this
service
for anyone living alone who
may be at risk for a fall.
